2007 California Angus Days Calcutta and Jackpot Show Results
 

Savannah Levisay, Creston, exhibited the grand champion female at the 2007 California Angus Days CJLA Jackpot Show in Turlock.
   
Ashley Judge, San Luis Obispo, exhibited the reserve grand champion female at the CJLA Jackpot Show at California Angus Days.

Members of the California Junior Angus Association (CJAA) exhibited a total of 91 head at the California Angus Calcutta and Jackpot Shows on December 2. Dave Dillabo of Tulelake evaluated the cattle in both shows.

In the calcutta show, 21 heifers that sold the previous day in the California Angus Days Female sale competed in the show. S Sis Party Girl 650, bred by Amanda Schnoor of Chowchilla, took grand champion honors for Brenden Benson of Winters.

Dawson Gatz of Brentwood exhibited the reserve grand champion with HAVE Princess 5024 H217, bred by HAVE Angus of Wilton.

In the California Junior Livestock Association (CJLA) Jackpot Show, the late junior heifer champion was Bar S Cassies Lilly 706, exhibited by Brenden Benson and bred by Cassie Silveira of Sanger.

The reserve late junior heifer champion was Bar R Tri Star Erica 7108 bred-andowned by Ashley Judge of San Luis Obispo.

The early junior heifer champion was V A R Black Lass 7138 owned by Sydney Schnoor of Chowchilla and bred by Vintage Angus Ranch, Modesto.

The reserve early junior heifer champion was Silveiras Elba 7314 exhibited by Amy Dierberger of Madera and bred by Garrett Blanchard of Firebaugh.

Silveiras Elba 6546 was the senior heifer champion for Savannah Levisay of Creston. The heifer, bred by Garrett Blanchard, went on to be named the grand champion female. She is sired by Gambles Hot Rod out of a Twin Valley Precision E161 daughter.

The reserve senior champion heifer was exhibited by Austin Perry of Prather. EXAR Blackbird 6957 was bred by Express Angus Ranches of Yukon, Okla.

The intermediate champion heifer, Bear Mtn Heiress 6188, was exhibited by Jessica Judge of San Luis Obispo. Bear Mountain Angus of Melba, Idaho, bred the heifer.

The reserve intermediate champion heifer was GMA Scotts Black Beauty 253 exhibited by Scott Avila, Merced, and bred by GMA Angus Ranch of Merced.

Bruin 104 Dianna 6413 was the junior heifer champion for Ashley Judge. She went on to be named the reserve grand champion female. Bruin Ranch, Gold River, is the breeder.

The reserve junior heifer champion was Amador Blackbird 104 6525 for Tricia Walker of Salinas. The heifer was bred by Amador Angus, Modesto.

The grand champion cow-calf pair was Amethyst Echo B28, exhibited by Casey Clark of Denair, and bred by Amethyst Angus Ranch of Plymouth.

The reserve grand champion cow-calf pair was Five Star 765 Vixn Lass 5071, exhibited by Brooke Barnes of Manton, and bred by Five Star Land and Livestock, Wilton.

In showmanship, the winners by division were Brenden Benson, senior; Austin Perry, intermediate; and Jessica Judge, junior.

ANGUS DAYS ’05
 

California Angus breeders gathered December 3 and 4,2005,in Turlock for the annual California Angus Days Sale, dinner, jackpot and junior show. The California Angus Association Board of Directors would like to thank the following for their support of the sale, silent auction, dessert auction and show, as well as those that attended the annual dinner.

The California Angus Days Sale averaged $2,928 on 25 lots. The top-selling lot was consigned by Mark Perez of Mission Angus Ranch and sold to Cassie Silveira of Sanger for $7,000. Col. John Rodgers served as the auctioneer, and Matt Macfarlane assisted with the catalog and on the block. Special thanks to Craig and JJ Reinhardt of Bar R Angus, Sloughouse, for sponsoring the post-sale social, and Jake Parnell for serving as the emcee for the annual dinner and the dessert auctioneer. Casey Cooley and Amanda Leo sold the top dessert, in which 50 percent of the winning bid was returned to buyers James Bright and Matt and Spencer Leo. Thanks to all for supporting the event!
